How I Stayed in America (Part 27)

Indeed, Dr. Sharp’s twins died during birth, which he monitored himself. Most likely, this was not a medical error. Sometimes terrible things happen, situations that are not even in doctors’ hands. I can imagine his agony at that moment. I think he did everything possible and   impossible. “You know, I had a choice: either to save my wife, or to save the children. I chose my wife…”

This story did not affect our relationship with Sharp in any way. For   some reason, I accepted it, and ten days later I arrived at his office in the most wonderful mood for the planned Caesarean on March 6th. At that moment, I felt like a “mother”. It was only my second child, but I was calm like a boa. My first failed natural birth was not a pleasant experience. An emergency caesarean after 24 hours of trying to give  birth was very stressful, thus the second birth was planned. By the way, even the old woman Macy later said that if I decide to give birth again, my only   option would be a caesarean. I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO  GIVE BIRTH VIA NATURAL WAY. That’s what she stated. I just have a very narrow pelvis that doesn’t tend to part. I wonder how it all works. I seem to be far from a fragile girl with narrow hips. However, as it turns out,   the internal structure of our organs and bones is something else.

The Caesarean section is not scary at all. After spinal anesthesia, your legs are almost instantly “taken away”, from the waist (for those who have it) and below. I am not a doctor and the set of medicines that you are given at the time of autopsy is unknown to me. Nonetheless, I can assume that you wouldn’t be able to do the procedure without a good

dose of fentanyl. It’s like a pure morphine. Therefore, the patient tends to feel “high”. The Caesarean lasts literally 20 minutes. This is from the cut and the first cry of the baby. However, the sewing process tends to last longer, about 40 minutes, or even an hour, depending on the doctor’s skill. If the cesarean is subsequent, then they cut along the   same suture that was on the stomach and on the uterus. If you think about the essence of the operation, then this is like a “game”: first you open your belly, and then also the internal organ, inside which there is a person. I have always said and will not stop repeating that everything related to child production has a completely surreal form to it. This is a process that cannot be analyzed. That is why I think that the “further we get into the forest”, the fewer people would be born naturally. As soon  as the option to have children without carrying them for nine months  and without giving birth through one’s own vagina (which tends to be a terrible scene itself, just imagine the way the baby’s head pushes  through the vagina “into the street”) appears, people would choose a test tube, an incubator, and anything else that would be offered on market.

I always attract the attention of my readers by emphasizing the fact  that our short life is a small flash in time. Furthermore, what we have been able to testify in our memory for our life is negligible in the scope of human civilization. Yet, a human is a rational creature and thinks too much, especially about himself. Moreover, the weaker the degree of a person’s development, the more he thinks about himself. And even when he does not think about himself, he still actually thinks about himself. What a tautology. A person with a weak mind rarely thinks at  all where he is and who he is, and the categories of his thoughts about himself tend to be very primitive. People with a higher level of development understand: we are on Earth for a very short time, therefore we need to hurry up, meaning not just dump 40 tons of shit and consume 400 tons of food, but aim to leave at least some trace.

Maybe become a part of human history, be noted for something, which would be attested in writing. Therefore, in my opinion, the birth of children through the vagina literally in some 30 years would be

considered “old school”. This would still be an option, but more and more people would strive for the test tube route.

The worldwide problem of fertility is not accidental. You can think and guess for a long time, but the “quality” of people has changed, and even though it may seem like the composition is the same, the quality is different. Fertility in the near future would turn into an absolutely controlled mechanism, which, most likely, would be organized by any civilized state. The problem of abortion would disappear, people would start having sex just for pleasure. To be frank, I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but the overall libido of the world would actually decrease significantly. The hormones that regulate libido would become very underestimated. I believe that the world’s testosterone would fall to a minimum. For those who are now horrified by my reasoning, I can give    a specific example: the average testosterone level in men in the 70s of the last century was much higher than it currently is. And this is a  general trend. The quality of products, the ecological situation and scientific and technological progress are to blame. As usual, I digress  from the main topic.

I gave birth to a wonderful healthy boy. Four kilos of beautiful flesh. Huge, bright, wide-open blue eyes looked at me without blinking. And I looked at them, and everything became clear to me at once. If he could speak then, he would definitely say: “Mom, you have no idea how much I know! And you can always count on me.” These were the eyes of the pack leader. I knew that I had given birth to a legendary man!
